The Manager provides cross-project leadership and technical guidance across international projects to (1) translate Global Affairs Canada (GAC) economic priorities into actionable project-level interventions, and (2) ensure the meaningful involvement of Canadian municipalities in project objectives, work plans, and results frameworks related to disaster risk and preparedness. The role integrates economic programming, stakeholder engagement, and results-based management (RBM) to ensure that trade-related opportunities—such as private-sector collaboration, clean and low-carbon technologies, and knowledge exchange—are effectively embedded within project strategies, implementation plans, and performance reporting. In addition, the Manager is responsible for the orientation, training, and logistical coordination required for the deployment of municipal expertise across FCM’s international projects related to climate adaptation, asset management, and disaster risk and preparedness for the South Africa project. The same level of orientation may be required for Canadian private sector entities and personnel if/when they are engaged on Global Affairs Canada projects. The Manager works in close collaboration with the Project Manager and the Project Operations Manager to ensure municipal volunteers are fully prepared and effectively supported to contribute to FCM’s international programming. |
